Maacom Women Economic Forum

MAACOM organized an annual forum that brought together women from Maa-speaking communities across Kenya. The aim of the forum was to raising awareness on economically viable opportunities within the arid and semi-arid regions they inhabit. The gatherings also serve as a platform to showcase existing initiatives and resources that women can take advantage of for economic advancement.

Beyond economic empowerment, the forum created a space for reflection, allowing women to identify priority investment areas and collaboratively develop strategies to address shared challenges.

The outcome of the event was the formation of a network of women from all seven Maa-speaking counties, a platform for women to learn and become economically empowered. It promotes collective action, encouraging women to strategize, set priorities, and craft sustainable solutions for their communities. MAACOM endeavors to organize such forums annually for continuous learning and growth of women enterprises.
