I come from a humble background and my educational journey was filled with challenges. I was frequently sent home due to lack of school fees. I joined a local secondary school where I did my best despite the circumstances.

Determined to change my future, I enrolled in a nearby college to study Social Work and Community Health. My goal was to work in a children's home, support myself, and advocate against the harmful effects of drug abuse in our society.

Inspired by a neighbor who succeeded in dairy farming, I began dreaming of starting a large dairy farm in my village. I believe that farming can transform lives and communities. Through MAACOM, I have been exposed to essential agricultural concepts and supported by mentors who care deeply about our growth.

I am especially eager to learn how modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance farming. I look forward to practical experiences and guidance from successful entrepreneurs, including our patron - Senator Ledama Ole Kina, who regularly counsels us on poverty eradication and financial management.

One of the most valuable lessons I have learned at MAACOM so far is the importance of kindness and assisting others, regardless of their background. I am committed to doing the same when I succeed, to give back and uplift others just as I have been supported.

Nairesiae Jemimah Korema

Narok North Constituency

Nairesiae

I come from a humble background, and life has been a continuous journey of hardship and perseverance. Most of our livestock were sold to cover medical bills, and food was often scarce.

I became a total orphan at a young age and life became extremely difficult. Despite these challenges, I remained focused on my education. Thanks to a compassionate headmistress, I was allowed to stay in school even without paying fees.

After completing Class Eight I was blessed to receive sponsorship through a well wisher who supported me throughout high school. Due to continued home struggles, I was not able to attend a top-performing school, and my final grade did not qualify me for university admission.

After my Secondary Education, I have been working on small farms and doing odd jobs to support myself. However, everything changed when I met MAACOM, who gave me an opportunity I never thought possible, to join Maasai Mara University.

I am incredibly proud and grateful to be a MAACOM beneficiary. I am committed to gaining valuable skills, especially in agribusiness, financial literacy, and community development. I know that with what I learn, I will return home not only to change my own life, but also to bring hope and transformation to my community.

May God bless MAACOM for this life-changing opportunity.

A Journey of Resilience

Bravial

I am a young visionary from a small village in Narok South Constituency. My life journey is one defined by resilience, determination, and unwavering ambition. Raised in a humble background, I grew up surrounded by values of perseverance, discipline, and hard work—which became the foundation of my survival and growth. Despite the hardships, they nurtured in me a strong sense of self-belief and purpose, teaching me that adversity can be a powerful teacher.

Through the support of the MAACOM Youth Program, I have found new purpose and direction. I am now pursuing my passion in agribusiness, with a keen interest in the integration of artificial intelligence and financial literacy in farming and rural development. I believe that knowledge is the key to transformation, and I aspire to use what I learn to empower young people, especially those from marginalized communities like mine, by equipping them with the tools and skills to build sustainable futures.

Every challenge I have faced has shaped me into the person I am today. I carry my story as a testament that circumstances do not determine one's destiny, hard work, courage, and commitment do. My journey is still unfolding, and with each step, I embrace both the lessons of my past and the endless possibilities that lie ahead.

I am a proud student supported by the MAACOM program, currently pursuing my education with deep gratitude and determination. My academic journey has not been easy. I was frequently sent home due to unpaid fees, and at times, it felt like my dreams were slipping away. Despite these challenges, I remained committed to my studies and eventually sat for my exams and I did well although not as I had wished but considering the hardships I faced, it was a victory I embraced,

Inspired by the struggles and strength of my upbringing, I developed a passion for agriculture and dreamed of becoming a successful dairy farmer in my village. I believe that farming holds the key to economic growth and food security, especially in rural communities like mine. That is why I am excited to study agribusiness, to gain knowledge and skills that will help me create sustainable change.

With Gods help, I hope to secure employment in the near future, earn enough capital to support my family, and eventually give back to my community.  I am  also deeply curious about how technology, especially artificial intelligence, can improve agriculture and learning. I would be excited to receive training in this area to enhance my skills and become part of the next generation of smart, innovative farmers.

I come from a humble background,  my journey through education has been filled with challenges. I struggled in school due to frequent interruptions — often being sent home for school fees. I continued my education in a local school, facing hardship every step of the way. After that, I had to support my mother by working on the farm so we could feed my younger siblings.

Even with these struggles, I have always been curious and eager to learn,  especially about how I can improve farming practices. I am particularly interested in learning how artificial intelligence can be applied to farming and how I can manage farm earnings better. I believe that with the right training and skills, I can not only improve my family's livelihood but also help uplift others in my community.

This opportunity means a lot to me, and I am determined to make the most of it.

I am Abigael Nkaiwuatei from Narok North Constituency. Through hard work and determination, I completed my Secondary Education in the year 2022.

When I completed my Secondary education things got tough at home and I could not continue with my education. During this challenging time, I never gave up and I was hopeful that I will continue with my studies.

Through MAACOM, I received support from our Honourable Senator Ledama to pursue an Agribusiness course at Maasai Mara University. I am back on track to pursue my goals and I am truly grateful for all support I have received.

Brian Samantei

Narok South Constituency

Brian

My name is Brian Samantei, and I come from Narok South Constituency. I am a proud student of the Maacom Youth Program, which gave me a second chance at education.

I come from a humble background and, due to financial difficulties, I was unable to pursue higher education after completing secondary school. Despite these challenges, I remained determined to keep my dream of further education alive. My goal has always been to acquire skills that can help transform my community—not only by applying what I learn but also by creating opportunities for others through employment and mentorship.

At a time when I was almost losing hope, Maacom offered me a free scholarship in Agribusiness, and it truly changed the direction of my life. Through this program, I have gained valuable knowledge and practical skills, especially in dairy farming and crop production, which are directly applicable to the needs of our community.

I remain hopeful and optimistic about what lies ahead. I dream of continuing my studies to the diploma level, and possibly even earning a degree in the future. I believe Maacom will be a stepping stone to those goals.

Most importantly, I promise to give back. I will support and uplift fellow youth in my community—especially those who, like me, once wished for such an opportunity. I am committed to being a source of hope, inspiration, and practical change.

Moses Kaigil

Narok East Constituency

Moses

My name is Moses Kaigil. We grew up with limited material possessions, but we were deeply rooted in community values and inner strength. Our home had no electricity and limited access to clean water. My parents were small scale farmers who worked tirelessly to provide for our basic needs. From a young age, I witnessed the harsh realities of poverty.

Despite these challenges, I was determined to pursue my education. I walked several kilometers to attend a public primary school, often without shoes or proper school attire. I studied under the dim light of a kerosene lamp, even as many of my peers dropped out due to lack of school fees. Against the odds, I completed my primary education in 2015.

I joined secondary school, but my journey was filled with difficulties. Financial struggles made it hard for me to continue with my studies. I remained at home for five years, hustling to survive and searching for a way forward.

In 2025, a new chapter began when I was granted a scholarship by our County Senator to join Maasai Mara University and pursue a course in Agribusiness. This opportunity has reignited my dreams and given me hope to not only transform my own life, but to empower other young people from humble backgrounds.

My dream is to become a transformative leader in the field of agricultural empowerment. I aspire to harness the power of artificial intelligence to revolutionize farming, making it more efficient, sustainable, and accessible for smallholder farmers in rural areas. I am particularly passionate about creating a digital platform that will enable farmers to access critical financial services and support.

This journey is not just about me, it is about lifting others as I rise and creating a lasting impact in my community.

Ann Kakenya

Kilgoris Constituency

Ann

My name is Ann Kakenya, a proud MAACOM-sponsored student currently studying at Maasai Mara University. I was raised in a very humble background. Life has not been easy, especially when it came to education but my family worked tirelessly to ensure I get to study.

After high school, I had planned to start hustling in order to save for college, but I am truly grateful that MAACOM stepped in and gave me the opportunity to pursue my dreams. Through this program, I now have the chance to gain valuable skills in agribusiness that I believe will help not only myself, but also my family and community.

My biggest goal is to acquire the knowledge I need to secure a stable job, support my family, and help lift us out of poverty. I am committed to working hard, making the most of this opportunity, and one day giving back to others who come from similar backgrounds.
